  4. Important information to use the CD-ROM
  5.  
  6. **You must turn off Virtual Memory and Modern Memory Manager.* 
  7. (This is found in your Control Panel under Memory)
  8.  
  9. ** Included are New Versions of QuickTime, Sound Manager & Sound **
  10.  
  11. Inside the "QuickTime 2.1" folder you will find Sound Manager V.3.1, QuickTime 2.1 and Sound (Updated Sound Controller that works in conjunction with Sound Manager 3.1)
  12.  
  13. * Note QuickTime 2.1 no longer needs Apple MultiMedia Tuner. 
  14.    This item has been integrated into QuickTime 2.1
  15.  
  16. To load QuickTime 2.1, Sound, and Sound Manager v3.1
  17.  
  18. 1. Open your Extensions folder. (This folder is found inside your system folder) 
  19. Remove Apple MultiMedia Tuner from your Extensions folder (if you have it)
  20.  
  21. 2. Drag QuickTime 2.1, Sound, and Sound Manager v3.1 from the QuickTime 2.1 folder to your System folder.

  23. Power PC users should drag the Quicktime Power Plug to the extensions folder 
  24.  
  25. Follow the directions from your Mac.
  26.  
  27. This will overwrite any earlier versions of QuickTime,Sound and Sound Manager.

  29. 3. Restart your computer.
  30.  
  31. There is no need to install Ancient Wisdom.
  32. It can play directly from the CD in 256, thousands or millions of colors. It runs much faster in 256 colors but the quality of the QuickTime movies are improved when thousands or millions is selected in your Monitor Control Panel. Unless you have a computer with a 040 or Power PC processor we suggest 256 color 640 X 480 display.

  34. *You will need a double speed CD-ROM drive.

  36. *8 Meg. of system ram is recommended.

  38. (If you have a problem launching Ancient Wisdom because of low memory, you can reduce the Application memory. To do this, select the Ancient Wisdom icon and then under the File menu, select Get Info.

  40. In the Preferred Size box, lower the Application memory to accommodate the RAM that is being used by your system extensions.)

  42. *There are two Macintosh versions of Ancient Wisdom on the CD. The Power PC version is called "WISDOM Power PC" and it runs in the native mode on a Power PC.

  44. *How to navigate the Ancient Wisdom CD-ROM* 
  45. (select "Help" on the Table of Contents page)

  47. Ancient Wisdom works like a book. 
  48.  
  49. After launching Ancient Wisdom, you will arrive at the Table of Contents. 
  50.  
  51. Here, you can select a chapter or a specific page by clicking on the slider at the bottom  titled "GO TO PAGE." This will take you directly to any page in specific page in our journal.

  53. Select "INDEX" in the top right corner for a selection of the topics that are explored on the CD-ROM. 
  54.  
  55. Select "HELP" for a short guided tour. We suggest starting with 
  56. "Preparing for the Journey".
  57.  
  58. Once you have started exploring the journal pages, move your mouse over the pictures. If it lights up, click on it once to get more information.  Clicking once again off the picture, or at the bottom center of the page, returns you to the original page.  Spinning symbols contain hidden information if your mouse turns into a "+" sign or if it reacts to your mouse.

  60. In the bottom corners of the master pages, hidden arrows appear if you move your mouse there.  If you click on it, the page will turn to the next or previous page. 
  61. In the bottom center, an Icon for the "Table of Contents" will appear if you move the mouse there.  This takes you back to the Table of Contents.
